Worlds Cheapest Touch Screen Laptop At $15
Indian government has unveiled the world’s cheapest Touch Screen Laptop at $35 and after subsidizing it will be available at $15.
The Touch Screen Laptop is aimed to help Indian education system and it’s hoping that it will be rolled out by next year. it’s just a prototype at the moment, which is developed by Indian IT students, that’s really awesome. It seems India is being progressed in IT industry by leaps and bounds.
The Touch Screen Laptop runs on Linux Operating System, having no hard disk, it utilizes 2 GB flash memory in order to cost cutting and can also run on solar power in the absence of conventional electric supply. It’s ideal for browsing, email, social networking and video conferencing etc..
While addressing a press conference human resource development minister said “It was India’s answer to the $100 laptops developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the US“.
“The solutions for tomorrow will emerge from India” Mr Sibal said, reports news agency AFP.
Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal said manufacturer is being sough for this gadget. The Indian government has already planned to subsidizing it’s production so that it can be easily available to all Indian college students.
It’s already consideration to slash down the price eventually to $20 Kapil Sibal said. The announced price was $35 and after subsidizing it will be available at $15.
